“The call goes forth, and is at once followed by the response of obedience. The response of the disciples is an act of obedience, not a confession of faith in Jesus.”
Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Repentance- Opening the Door

Day 2 of starting the new year right.  Yesterday’s post can be found here.

A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn’t find a space with a meter. Then he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: “I have circled the block 10 times. If I don’t park here, I’ll miss my appointment. Forgive us our trespasses.”  When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note: “I’ve circled this block for 10 years. If I don’t give you a ticket I’ll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation.”

We all know the difference between right and wrong. Chances are we have all repented.  I want to touch on two things. Now when you’ve done something wrong

1.       We must repent of our sins and change our ways.  NOT Just repent but believe the good news.  That Jesus has OVER come the world and NO sin is too great for his power.  We must just BELIEVE and take steps towards the cross.
a.       Mark 1:15 "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!"
2.       Don’t let the enemy remind you of your past.  REMEMBER, you are redeemed and covered by the blood.  The enemy will do EVERYTHING HE CAN to try to remind you of his path.  We have peace in Christ Jesus.  Remember, what every it is BUT  GOD has overcome the world.
a.       John 16:33 “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."

Prayer: Communion With God

I’ve decided to share with you some encouragement to start the year. I’ve entitled this How to start a new year right.

Today's will be about prayer. The fact is prayer is our communion with God.

What is communion you ask? It is association or fellowship. “Communion is God's communication to us coupled with our response to him — all in such a way that he's glorified and we're glad.1”

We don’t need to go too far to see how to pray as Jesus gives us the perfect examples. Don’t over think prayer. It’s like talking to a loved one BUT with fear and trembling.  Don’t be intimidated to ask God for anything. Future decisions, struggles or sickness. The devil wants to discourage you from getting close with the power God has given us.

I love you all. Don’t forget every blessing and transformation with God.
Start the day off with the simple prayer Jesus gave us -

“He said to them, “When you pray, say: “ ‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation. ’ ””
Luke 11:2-4 NIV

Hope in Him

12/14/2014

In preparing upon a new study for the Submitted Youth Group of my church, I stumbled upon a verse I have heard several times.  In fact I have heard songs written just about this verse.  However tonight it struck a new cord with me.
15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,"
- 1 Peter 3:15 NIV
Tonight I ask you-  What is the reason for the hope you have? Do you have hope?  Simultaneously as  right this a new song is playing on my computer.
ALL OF MY LIFE
I SEARCH FOR YOU LORD
YOU CALL ME TO YOUR SIDE
WITH ALL OF MY HEART
I'M DESPERATE FOR MORE
YOUR PRESENCE IS MY LIFE

Now tonight- if you've never head that feeling- cry out to God and He will show Himself to you.

Promises from God

In my daily study I pick up Exodus 19. This book is cliche for being "old fashion". However today I urge to to think of it as lessons learned. Additionally look for the theme of faithfulness.

‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.”

(‭Exodus‬ ‭19‬:‭4-6‬ NIV)

We see God giving instructions to Moses. These aren't orders for slavery but direction for prosperity. Even before Jesus was sent God shows His love to the very people that doubt him. Even after He brought them through trials.

Now we know about the risen savior , we know if the grace we have but we still doubt. Doubt is normal. However right now let us claim on the victory of what was done and what will be.

I need to add one more thing.

And the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. Have them wash their clothes and be ready by the third day, because on that day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.

(‭Exodus‬ ‭19‬:‭10-11‬ NIV)

In order to have a close relationship with God we are to live Holy. We are to set ourselves apart. Yes we sin- but right now let's ask God to forgive us.

"Father forgive me for my sins. God I want to live holy. I want to have you work in me in a new way. Use me for Your kingdom. Lord I'm asking for this not for the blessings your word tells us but because You love me and sent your son Jesus to die for my sins. Amen "

New Years Resolutions... just another time to fall short

People look forward to a new year as anew start when realistically they have been wasting time.  My concept is, don't delay start now.  In my Pastor's January 1st message, he focused on you don't need a new year to start over.  You can start over now because of Jesus's death.  Apply this to our careers or physical goals, you start NOW and do not wait.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year.  2012 will be exciting.  I have recently taken the opportunity to help some friends start a new business.  They are starting a child care services in Nassau County.  Please check out their website.  I have prepared an investor package for them with detailed budgeting.  They face some challenges but I am confident they can survive and succeed.  I prepared the SWOT Analysis, Competitve Analysis and prepared their product lines with their insight.  I look forward to their success and they way we are shaping their brand it seems the beginning a great organization.

That's all for now!.   It's TEBOW Time.

What is new?

So I have failed to keep my first promise of being current with this blog.  Well I have been overwhelmed.  After a nice vacation away in Europe and catching up with work and other commitments, I can see I am ready to take another stab at this.

I have been really been into inTouch Ministries app for my iPhone.  It has been giving me insight into life and what God's role is in it.  I have been praying hard about my next step in life.  I am beginning to study for the graduate admission examines as well as beginning to research graduate programs.  I am not sure if I want to study management or a particular science withing the business programs.  I also want to pick up a degree in my faith.  I am debating about a degree in Theology versus a degree in Ministry leadership.  Can anyone offer some insight?

Now lets talk about technology.  My iPhone 4S (should of been 5), has not arrived yet.  AT&T, why should I pre-order?  I have downloaded iCloud and with the help of my older brother, set it up.  It seems to have uses.  We will see how I can incorporate it into my work.

Today is also my father's birthday.  Last night, we took him to Ville D'Este in Floral Park.  It was a blessing to spend time with him and good friends.  The food there is amazing.  I highly recommend it.  Tomorrow we will have more family over and enjoy some home cooking!

Well for now, I hope to update you soon.

Blessings,

John

Today has been an extremely busy week.  We finished up third quarter deadline with time to spare.  MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.  I worked late almost every night.  Tomorrow will be a little busy in the morning, as I am working on transitioning to a new web provider.  In the afternoon I  will be relaxing by the pool

So I realized that this website would give others a chance to know my ambitious self.  Not only for professional reasons but to get to know what the driving force behind my ambitious are.  My faith, my family, my openness to culture and my education.

So I figured I would lay out the updates to come to the website:

  1. Add a hobbies section
  2. Ensure my skills are updated
  3. Adjust my design.
